A Surgical Intestinal clip is a mechanical metallic tool used in endoscopy to join two mucosal surfaces without surgery or suturing. It serves a similar purpose to a suture in gross surgical applications, joining two separated surfaces, but it can be administered through an endoscope channel under close supervision. A Surgical Intestinal clip is used to stop bleeding following treatments like polypectomy, treat gastrointestinal bleeding (in both the upper and lower GI tracts), and close gastrointestinal perforations.
